Because of the manner the material is presented, almost any level player will benefit. Class level players, intermediate and beginning players can all benefit from the exercises in Chess Calisthenics, Volume 1.

The material is organized into more than 100 tactical categories. Each category has at least 100 positions for review and study. Each position is part of a complete game. There are more than two thousand checkmates.

ChessCalisthenics is inspired by DeLaMaza's key insights into chess tactics training: 1) there is great value in practicing with structured repetitive exercises and 2) this type of practice leads to tactical mastery. Our system of tactics training is based on these insights.
